Write about your travels.

I love traveling. It is kind of my thing to explore new places, to walk off the beaten path. I don’t really have a plan most of the time. I like it to be spontaneous. But there are some things that I need on my travels.

It might seem a little bit old school, but one of the things I always pack in my carry-on is a small writing set. It consists of a pen, a pencil and an notebook. A paper notebook that is. ‘Why a paper notebook?’, you may ask. Don’t you have a phone?

Off course I do have a phone. I mostly blog or Instagram from it. I really like it to just write something down, and maybe even ad a small sketch to it. That just wouldn’t feel right on my phone. I keep a travel journal. Kind of like a captains log, just my travels.

I use that as a base for this blog sometimes, but for the most of my time, I keep it private. Maybe I’ll change that somewhen.

I also add tickets, photographs and other small items to it, just as a memory keeper. It’s nice to write down what amazing stuff I did at the end of the day. I just need to start a new one. It got wet. Dropped it in a lake. Luckily there wasn’t much in it.

I still have my Canadian notebook. And my Canadian friend book. I still read in them regularly. It’s nice to be able to sit back and read as it happened. Not just like you remember it.

So what do you think about keeping a travel journal? Do think it’s out dated? Do you do the same? Tell me in the comments down below.
