and I just got one delivered yesterday. I ordered it mostly because a broke my bendy pentapod thingy (that means it was a five-legged thing), but mostly because I broke my iPhone mount. And even more, because I got G.A.S.*.
Now, G.A.S. is not really a decease, but it’s bad for your wallet. And your bank account. And sometimes even for your mailbox. People who have G.A.S. will know what I’m talking about. And even though I would say that I’m still in an early stadium, there’s no coming back.
I’m talking Gear Acquisition Syndrome. It’s when you always want to get new gear, and then you’re not really satisfied with it, or at least not for long. G.A.S. can be a real creativity killer. Sometimes it’s better to just go out and do stuff than to dream about what you think you could do with a better camera.
But since I broke my old bendy tripod, and since I also broke my iPhone mount, I needed a new one. And I needed both fast. So I went to Amazon, searched, and found a bendy tripod on discount. With magnets in its feet. Now I can do timelapse videos on my iPhone again. But I won’t be able to use it with my ‘bigger’ camera. That would be too heavy.
