I really like exploring. And there are a few helpful tools I use for that. Like a compass and map.
As some may know, I really like to use paper maps in conjunction with the maps app on my phone. On my phone, I can get directions on the fly, and with the paper map, I can go about planning and I can use it for navigation when the battery of my phone is dead.
In cities, that’s obviously easier than in the countryside. You just have to look up the street you’re on and that’s it.
In more rural areas it is almost necessary to know in what direction the map faces and in what direction you need to go. So that’s why I have a compass.
And off course you need to know how to read a map.
