#fornature

While checking out the Activity App on my iPhone, I found out that today is #WorldEnvironmentDay. I had never heard of that, so I did a little research.

Turns out that this time around it is time for Nature. And I absolutely love Nature!

Yesterday at the Sösetalsperre.

The Foods we eat, the Air we breathe, the Water we drink and the Climate that makes our Planet habitable all come from Nature.

For me, Nature is all those things. But it is also much more. Without it, I would have probably never been inspired to do Photography.

In the Harz.

Nature is very much essential for my Photography. And while I do love a nice Cityscape as well, I always return to the Forest when I want to have something real.

Here in the Harz, Climate Change is very much visible. Trees are dying, the Winters are different than they were in my Childhood, and the Weather is getting more intense than I remember.

Trees killed by the Borkenkäfer (Bark Beetle).

The Harz also shows how little and also how much Humans care for Nature. While some leave their Trash everywhere, others come to pick it up. And it should not be like that. Nature should be important to everyone, because without it, we are nothing.

But without us, Nature would still be Nature. Life would go on as if nothing ever happened.

A wooden Bracelet.

If everyone does their part, no matter how little it is or how insignificant it might seem, we can go a long way. After all, there are about 7.8 Billion Human Beings calling this Earth their home. And we do not have another one.

Reduce litter, reuse and repair your gadgets, just do not get a new Phone every Year. I almost made it through five Years with my old iPhone 6s, and only replaced it because it had a few Problems and I did not want to just get a new Battery for it. The new Phone will have to last me the same amount of Time or more, that is what I expect from all the Tech that I use.

I love Nature.

Nature is not just a commodity. It is essential.

We need to take better care of it.
