I had just arrived home after a year in Canada. I had a bad case of Fernweh. That’s how I came to travel to Amsterdam to meet a friend. And, because I was adventurous back then, I decided to stay at Amsterdams Urban Campsite, where you sleep in artwork. I booked that thru AirBnB. And I took the train there.
So I’ve been to Hamburg with some friends for the last few days. We had a great time.
Today, I finally managed to visit a store I actually wanted to visit for ages. Ewert’s Teas and Spices in Göttingen. I always caught a hint of smell when I walked past it before, but the store was always closed, or I didn’t have the time. But today, the time was finally right. I had almost two hours two spare.
Whenever I go somewhere new, one of the first things I get is a printed map. I know that I could do anything I can do with that, and even more, on a digital map, but I somehow like the touch and feel of old school printed maps.
Yesterday, I met with a friend to have some fun in the Harz. After some deliberation, we decided to head out to Ehlend to see the steam train. We barely missed it. And since neither of us had enough change to pay the parking ticket until the next scheduled arrival, and also since we didn’t want to wait for over an hour, we went looking for an ATM.
I decided to publish a link to my old blog from 2014, from when I was in Canada, on this my new blog. I had the time of my life back then, but I moved on since then. I’ve grown as a person and as a creative.
Yesterday evening I set out on what was supposed to be a great adventure with some friends. We departed Clausthal at around 9 pm to drive to Frankfurt/ Main. That would be our base station for the next few days. My friends dropped me off at the hostel at around 1 am today. And we wanted to meet by 8 am to arrive in Hockenheim at around 9. It was a bad night. I couldn't fall asleep, and I woke up early. But I made the rejoin time with just minor delay. And so we set off to Hockenheim.
